HISTORY

What on earth possessed us to start a watch brand?

That's a question we get all the time. We saw boring, repetitive designs churned out year after year. We saw watches that didn't provide for individual expression. There was a blatant lack of uniqueness of style and colorways. Plus, we saw brands that did not connect directly with the people who were wearing their products. There was a significant disconnect.

The market was ready for something new and different. A watch brand that would connect to its fans, one that would form and sustain real relationships. A brand that would involve the people who bought their watches in the process of product development. A brand that would continually aim to create distinctive limited edition watches screaming attitude and nonconformity. Perfect timepieces for the watch lover looking for something different to add to his or her collection.

We saw the need & created LIV Watches.

We saw the need & created LIV Watches.

Over the years, our one constant has been our creativity.

2014

We launch the LIV brand on Kickstarter, and the response is overwhelming (in a perfect way).

2015

The GX1 Swiss Chrono makes its debut and keeps fans wanting more.

2016

We answer the call for a first automatic watch with the GX1-A.

2017

The Rebel enthralls us all with its defiance and takes us to a new level of nonconformism.

2018

We experiment with titanium and ceramic to bring the dashing P-51 and Alarm watches.

2020

We move to Miami's Wynwood Arts District and launch the Saturn V Commemorative Timepiece.

WHAT MAKES US TICK?

DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY

Part of our model has been to fund our development and manufacturing efforts using the crowdfunding approach. Nothing brings you closer to your customers, or fans as we call them than to have them directly invest in developing a watch and receive one (or more) as the return on their investment. In this manner, we have used Kickstarter five times, setting records of some sort in every case.

So, let's see: we integrate our fans into our funding and development efforts, provide insanely good concierge-style service, and deliver outstanding, uniquely designed handcrafted Swiss masterpieces.

Yep, that's doing it differently.

DESIGN WITH DEFIANCE

One key to our success is the drive to produce designs, unlike anything else in the watch world. Our inaugural watch design, the GX-1 Swiss Quartz Chronograph, set the bar high when it became an instant fan (and industry) favorite. It introduced vibrant colors, rich textures, multi-layer dials, and supple materials that have become LIV design hallmarks.

The Rebel line was our most unique design yet, featuring our take on the tonneau shape. It simply begs to be worn. We continued to innovate with new case materials; titanium in 2018 and a bronze/titanium alloy in 2020. We added ceramic to bezels on our P-51 Pilots and GX-1 Diver lines for deep, rich color and enduring wear resistance.

And we are not done!

FUSE FUNCTIONALITIES

Our very first watch, the GX-1 Swiss Quartz Chronograph, offered all the capabilities and functionality you'd expect from a high-end chronograph. A great start.

One of the greatest joys in building a family of watches is adding watches with diverse functionalities. In addition to quartz and automatic chronographs, fans can choose from several day and date display variations, including windows and subdials, a GMT function for tracking another time zone, uni-directional rotating bezels, a very cool alarm/quartz chronograph combination, and an accurate moon phase display.

With so many great Swiss movements, look for more functionality in the future.

MERGE MATERIALS

From day one, we chose 316L stainless steel for our cases, knowing we could execute our designs to perfection with 316L and that our shops and craftspeople could handle it with ease. Then we integrated ceramic and titanium into our designs. Ceramic allowed us to use additional rich colors and crisp designs in a material that rivals sapphire in scratch resistance. Titanium allowed us to reduce the timepiece's felt weight without sacrificing strength or durability.

We turned the material dial up another notch with a unique bronze/titanium alloy case option. These bronze beauties will age and patina in a manner unique to their wearer.

A suitable attribute for the remarkable individuals who make up our fan base
