Juan Pablo Conquers Ama Dablam

Some mountains aren’t just climbed — they are earned. For LIV Watches athlete Juan Pablo, the journey to the summit of Ama Dablam (22,350 ft.) was more than a test of strength. It was a masterclass in patience, precision, and time itself.

-

What began with a short flight into Lukla quickly became an 18-day ascent through some of the world’s most demanding terrain. From the first steps toward Phakding and the long push into Namche Bazaar, to the first breathtaking view of Ama Dablam from Everest View Hotel, every stage pulled him deeper into the heart of the Himalaya.

High-altitude days stacked into one another — Tengboche, Dingboche, Chukung — each one a reminder that altitude gives nothing freely. Juan Pablo tackled Chukung Ri (18,209 ft.), summited Island Peak (20,210 ft.), and pushed onward to Ama Dablam Base Camp at 15,100 ft., where weather held him for nearly a week.

Those days of waiting demanded a different kind of endurance: the discipline to stay ready. To stay sharp. To remain precise when momentum stalls.

When the mountain finally opened a window, Juan Pablo moved with purpose — Camp I, Camp II, and the final summit push, climbing through darkness toward one of the world’s most iconic peaks.

Twelve hours later, he stood on the summit of Ama Dablam, a blade of granite suspended above the clouds. In that rare, breathless stillness, time seemed to stretch around him.

And throughout the entire journey, one thing stayed constant:

The bright-blue Gravel 002 McQueen on his wrist — the ultimate outdoor watch.

Built with rugged materials, high-grade Swiss precision, and designed for the kind of brutal environments most people will never experience, the McQueen became more than a timekeeper. It was a reminder of pace, discipline, and the seconds that mattered most.

Its bold blue dial — unmistakable even against Himalayan ice — symbolized exactly what this climb represented: clarity, focus, and fearless forward motion.

This ascent reflects the spirit of LIV: the relentless pursuit of challenge, the respect for precision, and the belief that the most unforgettable moments are often the hardest earned.

Some moments stop time. Some redefine what’s possible.

Juan Pablo LIVed both.

Moments That Stop Time

🏔️ Ama Dablam is a climb that tests every limit — altitude, mind, and endurance. It’s where beauty meets brutal precision. Ridges narrow, oxygen thins, and every step demands total focus. Up here, time moves differently — every second becomes a decision, every heartbeat a reminder of the magnitude of the mountain.

For those who push limits where timing matters most, there’s only one way to move: Dare to LIV. 👊🏻Thank you@jpalcaldedfor sharing this experience with us.
